The Association of Model Engineers was set up in 1983. It is administered by a Council made up of Founder Members and by a Main Committee of seven members. AME holds meetings every other Thursday at its premises in Valletta . Activities during these meetings include modeling competitions, slide and film shows, lectures on modeling techniques, lectures by members and special guest speakers. AME also organizes monthly outside activities that include visits to museums, historical places, and other social activities. AME is a non-profit making, non-ideological association consisting of persons who have a special interest in model engineering and scale modeling and helps its members to improve standards in the achievement of excellence in their field.
