Information The Association of Model Engineers was set up in 1983. It is administered by a Council made up of Founder Members and by a Main Committee of seven members. At present the Association has 100 members coming from all walks of life. AME is a non-profit making, non-ideological association consisting of persons who have a special interest in model engineering and scale modeling and helps its members to improve standards in the achievement of excellence in their field. It is based in Malta. |

Annual Exhibition and Competition Every year AME puts up an Exhibition and Competition. The competitions are divided into three categories:
Competition among the members is keen and every year our members produce very good models of outstanding quality. |

AME has participated in the following International Exhibitions:
AME members have won various awards at the Model Engineer Exhibition in UK. Some of these are: Mr James Rizzo won first prize with his hot air engine, Mr Carmel Borg won first prize with his scratch built model of a Ford Mustang, France Carbonaro was awarded highly commended certificate for his large science fiction model. Other highly commended models were an HP Hastings by Carmel Attard. A model of the golden mask of Tutankhamen by Publius Magro won a silver medal. AME modelers have shown their skill and ability of producing winning models which brought awards, medals and trophies to our island. AME was also awarded the British Model Soldier Society’s accolade in recognition of AME’s contribution to modeling over the years. Every year two member of AME’s Council are invited to act as judges in various international Model Competitions. This recognizes the quality and standard of the Maltese modeler especially for members of the Association of Model Engineers. |
